THE FOOD

Events in the Sky has partnered with three of the capitals best chefs, Robin Gill of The Dairy, Lee Westcott of Typing Room and Pascal Aussignac of Club Gascon each of whom have designed a lunch and dinner menu for one of the tables. Each of our three award winning chefs will be cooking in person for the dinner sittings on Friday 6th and 13th July as extraordinarily special evenings.

With the exception of the Friday nights Chef's tables, Events in the Sky is delighted to have secured London’s most premium caterer Absolute Taste, renowned for their exceptional food at Wimbledon, Lord’s Cricket and British Grand Prix, among others, who will deliver the menus designed by our chefs on a daily basis.

MEET OUR CHEFS

ROBIN GILL

Chef Robin Gill is the co-founder of Clapham restaurants The Dairy, Counter Culture and most recently, Sorella. He started his career in Dublin before setting out on a culinary expedition working in some of the best kitchens in the world and revered chefs including Marco Pierre White’s three-starred, The Oak Room, the two-starred Don Alfonso 1890 in Naples and Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons. Each of Robin’s restaurants creates an environment that is unpretentious and accessible for all, putting the focus on cooking great food with seasonal ingredients.

LEE WESTCOTT

Chef Lee Westcott is known for creating stunning, imaginative plates with remarkable depth of flavour. It’s no wonder with a mentor like Tom Aikens and having worked in some of the world’s finest restaurants including Thomas Keller’s Per Se, New York (three stars) and René Redzepi’s Noma, Copenhagen (two stars). After overseeing Jason Atherton’s two new restaurants in Hong Kong – 22 Ships and Ham & Sherry, Lee returned to the UK to open his own restaurant, Typing Room. Lee’s style of food is seasonal and modern with eclectic influences collected during his travels.

PASCAL AUSSIGNAC

Chef Pascal Aussignac hails from Toulouse in South West France, where foie gras, duck, good wines and Armagnac are the order of the day. He trained with French master Chefs Gerard Vie, Alain Dutournier and Guy Savoy. His love of food, innovations and obsessive attention to the finer details has been delighting foodies & critics in London since 1998. Club Gascon was awarded a Michelin Star in 2002 that it has retained every year since and in 2007 was awarded the ultimate peer group accolade of ‘Restaurant of the Year’ by The Caterer Magazine.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

What happens if bad weather is forecast for the day of the event?

Unless notified, customers should come to the event as the site supervisor can only make a final decision whether to lift or not 15 minutes before the scheduled lift time.

There’s a roof on the Sky Table that keeps guests dry, but wind is our greater concern so we constantly monitor conditions and can therefore only make the final decision 15 minutes prior to the lift.

Should we experience adverse weather conditions during the meal, Events in the Sky reserves the right to lower the table to a safe dining height or back down to ground in the interests of guests’ safety.

What is the refund policy?

In accordance with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations, the customer has the right to cancel their ticket(s) up to seven days after purchase and Events in the Sky will issue a full refund within 30 days. There will be no refunds paid after seven days but the tickets are transferable. The new ticket owners should check in using the order number on the tickets.

Should Events in the Sky cancel the experience due to inclement weather or is unable to start the lift, guests will be offered a full refund or the opportunity to rebook during the event.

If the meal is able to go ahead but not at the full 100ft due to inclement weather but is in the sky for a minimum of 15 minutes, no refunds will be made. Events in the Sky may have to land the table during some lifts and continue service on the ground under its roof due to wind speeds, but will lift the Sky Table back up should the inclement weather pass.

Do you provide a vegetarian option?

Yes, each menu will have a vegetarian option which needs to be ordered in advance when booking your tickets. Unfortunately, we can’t cater for personal dietary requirements, but if you leave a note in the booking system our chefs will try and accommodate your requirement. However, we can’t guarantee this due to the practicality of cooking at height.

How early do I need to arrive?

Plan your arrival a minimum of 30 minutes prior to your meal time to register and relax in our luxury marquee. Guests are seated together with family and friends at the table.

What is the dress code?

Smart casual. We recommend ladies wear trousers. Guests are advised to dress warmly in overcast weather and for cool mornings & evenings.

Is there a toilet on the sky table?

No, guests use the washroom facilities on site prior to their sitting.

Can I participate if I’m pregnant?

Events in the Sky is safe for pregnant ladies, but we don’t recommend it for women more than six months pregnant as they may be uncomfortable in the chair with the three seat belts used to fasten in guests.

Is there a minimum age or maximum weight to participate?

A minimum age of 12 or height of 1.4m applies. Under 18s need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian? A maximum weight of about 120kg is advised for guests to feel comfortable in their seat.

What can I take up with me on the sky table?

We encourage guests to bring a camera or phone to take pictures of your experience whilst in the sky. No bags or other items will be allowed on the table but can be left securely in the reception cloakroom.

Is Events in the Sky safe?

Events in the Sky is part of the global Dinner in the Sky group operating in 62 countries worldwide. Safety is the company’s foremost priority. Dinner in the Sky tables are designed according to the German DIN 4112 certification, globally regarded as one of the toughest safety certifications to obtain and produced in Belgium under control of Rheinland TÜV. The tables are regularly checked and maintained to ensure maximum safety for our guests, partners and staff.
